Cereal advert

Image
Cereal advert The task was to create a tv advert for a health related cereal brand to appeal to a health conscious consumer. I used a range of camera shots and angles ranging from extreme close ups to long shots in different environments. I used my skills from camera shots to direct where the camera should be and what movement should be made.  I also utilised sound as the advert contains a soundtrack as well as a voice over and sound affects. The advert was also made to suit the target audience with a tagline to go with it 'A break bar for ballers'.

What a surprise

What a surprise Our task was to create a 30 second piece where someone is given something that changes their emotion. I developed skills such as filming using different shot types and directing where the camera should be and what effect that could show. The use of music and voice to contribute to the overall piece. We also used techniques such as a graphic matches and action matches to make a smooth and clean looking video.

Kitchen nightmares trailer task

In this task we had to cut down hour long footage of a kitchen nightmares down to a one minute trailer for the episode, including the main events and branding. Without giving away what happens in the episode we had to add small clips together to make the tallier exciting a make the viewer want to watch the episode. I used transitions to make the cuts smoother and better looking. Kitchen Nightmares Trailer

John Lewis Cutting task

John Lewis Advert task In this task we had to cut a TV advert from 90 seconds down to 60 seconds. I got used to cutting clips and organising them and i used my previous knowledge of premier pro from the kuleshov experiment to help me to rearrange the clips.  Completing this task advanced my knowledge of how to edit and cut clips together while keeping the main elements of the advert. video

Deodorant advert

Deodorant Advert In this task we had to arrange different deodorant adverts to create our own montage of the clips using premiere pro. As this was our first editing task it was difficult to get used to at the start but at the end i had learned how to cut, trim, rearrange clips and add transitions to combine the clips. I also added music to the video and synced the audio in parts with what was happening at the time whether it was in the scene or a transition.

Kuleshov Experiment

The Kuleshov experiment is where the same reaction is used for different sequences of footage. This shows how context is important to scenes in media as in my task it shows the actor smiling at some sweets which makes him seem innocent whereas when the footage shows hes smiling at a child being shouted at, it makes him seem creepy and weird but makes him come across as a different person.

shots task

Today our task was to take a range of shots around the school.  A tilt shot or canted angle is used to show speed, movement or an unsettled mood. A long shot is used to show something at distance. It can be used to show a character at distance and to show that they are dominated by they're surroundings.    A close up shot is used to concentrate the audiences attention to one thing with minimal background detail. It can also be used to show a characters emotion or feelings.
