John Lewis Advert task



 In this task we had to cut a TV advert from 90 seconds down to 60 seconds. I got used to cutting clips and organising them and i used my previous knowledge of premier pro from the kuleshov experiment to help me to rearrange the clips. 
Completing this task advanced my knowledge of how to edit and cut clips together while keeping the main elements of the advert.

Today our task was to take a range of shots around the school.  A tilt shot or canted angle is used to show speed, movement or an unsettled mood. A long shot is used to show something at distance. It can be used to show a character at distance and to show that they are dominated by they're surroundings.    A close up shot is used to concentrate the audiences attention to one thing with minimal background detail. Kuleshov Experiment

The Kuleshov experiment is where the same reaction is used for different sequences of footage. This shows how context is important to scenes in media as in my task it shows the actor smiling at some sweets which makes him seem innocent whereas when the footage shows hes smiling at a child being shouted at, it makes him seem creepy and weird but makes him come across as a different person.
